Spot The Bigger Tourist

Two friends who are studying in Taiwan (Arnaud from France and Klara from the Czech Rep.) arrived this weekend for a vacation in the Philippines. I showed them around metro manila in as much places as we possibly and affordably can in a span of three days. While doing so, I realized I'm seeing some of these sights also for the first time! :D Makes me wonder who was the bigger tourist, me or them?

Anyway they went to the malls (a definite filipino "staple"), intramuros, malate (where they stayed in a guesthouse), quiapo, manila bay, makati, UP (a definite must-see if you tour with me, hehe), and the chinese cemetery. today they go to banaue, then to bohol then back to metro manila before they go back to kaohsiung.

This pic by the way, is greenbelt... and I do believe this is the best way to say "welcome to the philippines" while you're in hot, sticky, grimy metro manila. Posted by Picasa

Kamusta? I enjoyed reading your blog. I was a Greenbelt relic before I moved to the US. If I can only have Dorothy's ruby red shoes...
